What
you
have just watched is a complication that can still be treated without
the need
for amputation!
Diabetic
wounds
People
with diabetes wounds often notice that their skin gets itchy, dry, and
is
easily
injured. The dry, itchy skin easily cracks, leading to compromised
skin.
The bacteria
and germs can get into the skin cracks, feed on the elevated glucose in
the
body, and cause infection. People with diabetes wounds have poor blood
circulation,
which means the body is slower to heal wounds and ulcers. A person
with diabetes
wounds may not
even notice an injury until he or she already has an infection.
Infections that
are not healed quickly may lead to gangrened skin and exposure to
amputation. Preventing infections and taking proper diet, exercise and
care of the wounds, cuts, scrapes,
and
bruises are critical for those with diabetes wounds.
The
hands and feet of people with diabetes wounds are particularly
susceptible to
infection because blood circulation is poorest at the extremities. It
is
crucial for people with diabetes wounds to thoroughly check their hands
and
feet for
cracks, cuts, or any other injuries so that wounds can be cared for
immediately
to prevent infections. If you are caring for someone with diabetes
wounds, be
sure to
perform regular checks of the feet, hands, and other parts of your
loved one’s
body.
Diabetes
wounds have grown to be a critical subject over the years.
Approximately 26 million Americans suffer from some sort of chronic
wounds or open
sores, 17% of
these are diabetics. Chronic wounds can become infected, develop
gangrene or
require amputation.Diabetics are at a greater risk of developing
chronic wounds
and ulcers because of poor blood circulation, slow healing times,
vascular
disease and
neuropathy (numbness).Diabetes ulcers are the most common foot injuries
leading
to lower extremity amputation.
Wounds
and ulcers are the medical
term for injuries that occur when skin is torn, cut, sore, bruised,
punctured, or similarly damaged. Most wounds and ulcers can be treated
at our
Treatment Centre.
Because
of this fact we will focus on diabetes wound and foot ulcers, the most
common of
all
diabetic chronic wounds. We'll discuss a bit about ulcers, what therapy
and treatments
are available, FAQs and testimonials made by our patients.
What
are Foot Ulcers and
wounds?
The foot ulcers are open wounds that develop on the sides, top or soles
of
the
feet. Diabetics are prone to these wounds simply because of poor blood
circulation
and other
problems that arise from having diabetes. Diabetes wounds
should be taken
seriously. They are difficult to treat and the treatments and
medications
can be
lengthy and frustrating with lower extremities, particularly foot
wounds
account
for one quarter of all diabetics hospital admissions in the U.S. and
Great
Britain.
Who
can get Diabetes Foot Ulcer and wound?
Almost
everyone who has diabetes
can develop foot ulcers and wounds.
Who
are more likely to
develop foot ulcers and who
are at risk?
People
who
use insulin and those who suffer diabetes
related ailments
such as heart disease, kidney and eye problems are equally at risks. If
you are
overweight, smoking and a drunk, taking alcohol regularly, you are at a
greater risk of
developing foot
ulcers and wounds.
How
Do Diabetes
Foot Ulcers and
Wounds Form?
There are 4 major causes of diabetes foot ulcers and wounds.
1)Neuropathy
(numbness). Neuropathy is
a condition when you lose sensation in your limbs and lower
extremities. Continuous
and prolonged elevated glucose levels over time can cause this to
happen. This
condition has a way of creeping up on everyone. Often most people are
not aware
of the problems until it's too late to cure it.
Because
of numbness, the patients can't feel small cuts on their feet,
wounds and
ulcers can go untreated for days even weeks. Also numbness can cause a
patient
not to shift or move or exercise their feet when pressure points
develop. This
can lead to wounds and ulcers development very easily.
2)Foot
deformities and weaknesses.
Because of neuropathy patients can break bones in their feet and they
are not aware
of it. Foot deformities can directly or indirectly put unnatural
pressure on
certain areas of the foot and can cause wounds to develop.
3)Vascular
Disease. This disease can cause
narrowing of blood vessels and can lead to wound development. Irregular
and restricted
blood flow, making blood circulation and treating foot ulcers and
wounds
very frustrating,
lengthy and time consuming. This condition reduces the body's ability
to heal
itself which increases the risk of infection.
4)Skin
irritation and friction.
Patients with numbness cannot tell and find it difficult when they have
skin
irritation, problems with frictions or pressure points. The only way to
know for
sure is to check the condition of the feet often for redness, peeling
skin or
blisters.
How
Should Diabetes Foot Ulcers
and Wounds be treated?
Prevention,
prevention prevention is the best option or solution to it. Diabetes
wound is
all about
caring and prevention. Untreated
wounds can lead to infection and expose to risks even to losing of
lives. The quicker it is treated, the less
likely
it is to develop a wound problem.

Dilemma
and common actions of a diabetic patient
Majority
of diabetes patients or
diabetics with neuro-infectious diabetes foot would seek medical advice
and treatments
for their foot ulcers and wounds at government hospitals, private
hospitals or even
private
clinics hoping that it would be healed and cured so that they could
resume normal life
just like before.
However,
after weeks or months of
treatments and medications, these sufferers found all hopes diminished
and expectation
for a
complete recovery becomes unrealistic and vanished. Instead, the wound
worsen and become untreated –
oozing brown smelly pus, leading to putrefaction of the tissue with
visibly no
signs of recovery.
To
control the spread of this
infection, specialist doctors would generally suggest amputating the
infected
foot which otherwise would be fatal and life threatening. Without
giving deep thoughts and finding other options, diabetics or their
family members would eventually become
conceded
to the specialist’s suggestion or advice. As a result, patients with
diabetes
foot ulcer / wound, which can be treated with alternative medication,
are often
amputated and lost their limbs.

the duration is between 1 - 3 months depending on severity of the wound
and the will power of the patients.
4.
What would be regarded
as chronic
cases?
Cases
which have been
diagnosed by
doctor as pending amputation, secondary amputation cases, cases with
severe
sores and ulcers, decomposing tissues and etc.
5.
Other than
chronic wound
cases, what about cases with only high sugar levels without any wounds?
We
also accept those with
high sugar
level for treatment. Usually patients will receive treatments via
periodic
telephone or sms monitoring after coming personally to Our

development
of their sugar levels
will be monitored
continually
until successful recovery.
6.
How can we be certain
this
chronic wound treatment is effective or otherwise?
Treatments
at Alternative
Treatment Centre are divided into 4 stages. Based on this it can be
assessed the
effectiveness of the treatments provided.
i.
Fighting
diabetes wounds and ulcers where all infected areas such as dead
tissue, gangrene, and
thick
hardened skin will be carefully cleaned and removed. Where there is
pus, it
will be expelled from the wound.
ii.
Recovery starts when healthy tissue starts emerging where we would
further
stimulate it to accelerate tissue growth until it forms fresh new flesh.
iii.
When the fresh tissue of flesh has completely grown in place filling
the deep
dented wounds, we will then stimulate the growth of new layer of skin
till it
finally cover the wounded area. By this stage, the wound has fully
healed
internally and externally.
iv.
Finally, sugar levels will be regulated till it constantly read between
4.4 –
6.1 mmol/L without any assistance of insulin or application of other
drugs.
7.
What are the wound
recovery
chances for patients diagnosed for amputation by conventional treatment?
God
Al-Mighty has bestowed
upon
mankind diversified knowledge and skills. As such, “There is no
disease that
is not without any cure except death”. Alternative treatment is one
of the treatment
methods using natural extracts, which was once the foundation of modern
treatment. Chances for success is 70% for patients already diagnosed
for
amputation by
doctors.

helping
patients
to recover faster.
v. Patients
are also offered
other services such as transport for
traveling as when is required and patients are to settle all the bills
related to that
request.
9.
What about diabetes
patients with
other complications such as high blood pressure, kidney and heart
problems?
